Surf tackle should work fine. for the easier smaller fish 8-12 pound line on a 6-7 foot rod using shrimp or squid. the biggies need 15-25 on a 8-9 foot rod using cigar minnows or other smaller fish. a wide assortment of artificial lures are also used. we have both natural and artificial baits
