For Richard: Cast netting is the best and most common way to catch mullet. Off the pier you can also snag them using a weighted treble hook. Another way is a #10 gold hook baited with canned corn. I'm sure there are other ways.

The Destin fishing rodeo runs the entire month of October. Pier bridges 4 Surf divisions prizes include a 1 year pier pass. There is a $25.00 entry fee and you must be registered 24 hours in advance of weighing in a fish.

We also have a Pier only king tournament. The entry fee is $20.00
