cool day today

Today is starting out as a cool day but is expected to get warmer as the day goes on. The water is choppy but very clean. We have a light north east wind so far.

Yesterday there were some bull red fish caught. I heard there were some sheepshead swimming around along with some bonito but nobody hooked any.

The passes are still available for the first legal pompano, king , cobia and tuna caught off the pier so come try your luck.

cold day today

We have another cold day here at the pier but warmer weather is forcast for Sunday. I forgot to include the water condition for yesterdays posting. It was flat but dirty looking. Today we have a light chop winds out of the west north west. Too early to tell if water is clean.

We had a few brave souls here yesterday but nothing was caught except a cold or two.

Only 2 1/2 months till COBIA season so get your gear cleaned and ready.

UPDATE: The water is cleaning up but still a little dingy.

what happened?

Boy what a difference a day makes. Yesterday we had nice warm weather for January, but today it is a little chilly. North winds and a cool temp has the wind chill around 34 so far this morning. So if coming to the pier bundle up.

No reports of any fish yesterday so maybe today is the day with the cool weather.

Thursday, January 05, 2006

another beautiful day for January

It looks like it is going to be another great day here on the Emerald Coast. Light north west winds, water with a light chop to it looks clean. Maybe this will be the day for that first pompano.

We had a few fishermen yesterday but nobody reported catching anything. I guess the fish went back to school along with the kids.

The FREE YEAR pass is still available for the first legal pompano caught off the pier so come try your luck.
