For dgrooms:

October is a great fishing month. Most people use spinning gear. For larger fish 15-25 line depending on your skills. use reels with 275+ capacity with a 8-9' rod.

Smaller fish 6-7' rod 8-12 line and 175-250 capacity.

Basic baits are shrimp and squid for the smaller easier to catch fish and Minnows or artificial for larger harder to catch ones. As always when going to a new fishing hole see what the local pros are doing.
