Thanks

Thanks for informing us that comments about this blog were being made on a web site other then the okaloosaislandpier one. We will in the future try and address those issues.

Pictures. Would love to post them, however have not received any from the fisher folks. Any one who sends a picture to us at islandpier@cybertron.com will have it published if the size permits.

Except for the hardtails and skipjack fishing has been usualaugust fair that is slow. Until the water cools down some or thetarpon show up you can expect it to remain that way. With that said there will always be the day when fish show up in great numbers and the people limit out. Just wish we could perdict when that will happen. Remember yesterdays catch does not always reflect what will happen today or tomorrow. At ths time of the year, the best bet is a good southeast wind and overcast skies.

There have been schools of bait hanging around the pier lately. they want to get under the pier and in the shade. Most of they are alewies, but cigar minnors are here also in lesser numbers. You should be able to can some on either gold hooks or bait rigs.

Yesterdays catch included, a few black snapper (live or fresh shrimp the best bet), spanish still being taken or bullble and gotcha's, skipjack on just about anything, reds missows the best bet and of course hardtails using larger bait rigs either #6 or #4 or some cut bait.

It the past I did not want to make suggestions on what to use to catch different species, since many anglers know much more then i do. Also did not want to waste your time with excess verbage.

If you the readers want i will expand this blog to cover those point brought up

Again thanks for the feedback
